Biography: Lee Seung Chul is a South Korean singer and former member of the legendary rock band Boohwal. He graduated from Daishin High School and later attended Suwon Technical College for a degree in Mechanical Engineering but dropped out to pursue his dream of becoming a singer. He made his debut in 1985 as the lead vocalist of Boohwal with the band's 1st album, "Rock Will Never Die" and later releasing their 2nd album, "Remember". He left in 1989 to become a soloist and made his solo debut with "Don't Say Goodbye", the first of 12 solo albums he has released in his career. He became active in Japan as well, performing under the stage name Rui. He made his acting debut in 1992 in the movie "The Moon Is... the Sun's Dream" but aside from that role and a cameo in the 2009 movie "More Than Blue", he has always preferred to focus on his singing career. In 2002 he returned as a guest lead vocalist for Boohwal for the band's 8th album "A New Day/Dawn". In 2005 he won the Male Musician of the Year at the Korean Music Awards. He is currently represented by MLD Entertainment.
